So my native state has decided to brand itself. I guess in this day and age you can brand anything you really want, but should we? Did Colorado "really" need a special logo to make itself known? Isn't that what our state flag does, brand us?
For myself, I am still pondering this and trying to figure out why Colorado really needed to brand itself like this and if it was a good thing or simply a waste of time. But in any case, Colorado used pro bono services from Marketing agencies to create a logo because they wanted to have an icon like the "Nike Swish". Something that was recognizable to the whole world. Apparently they valued the services from these agencies at over $2 million dollars and this is what the final result was.
Is it too simple? Is it just right? Only time will see, such as the case with most branding efforts. We will begin to see this logo everywhere from home grown products to highway signs.
